This is the facade of the temple. It was built in 237bc to praise the god of protection, Horus who was portrayed as a falcon or man with a falcon head. It took 180 yrs to complete. This temple is the best preserved and most complete across the whole of egypt and you can just see some of the original blue and gold paint remaining at the sun disc with cobras in the centre at the top. Wow.

Temple at Edfu
