Matthew was weighed this morning and - thank goodness - is finally gaining a reasonable amount of weight. He gained 7 ounces in the last week. This is based against gaining only 4 ounces in the previous six weeks combined. Why? Nobody knows because he's feeding just the same and being just as sick, but at least something's working and maybe now the hospital will agree that going is a waste of time.
Yes, that's right, Mummy is still waiting for a letter to tell her which day is a total write-off due to a hospital visit that should take two minutes for a weighing but in fact will take six hours by the time we wait on a nurse, wait on her finding the scales, wait on her actually weighing him, then on a paediatrician who will want to see him feed (because breast-feeding is difficult to gauge - who knew?!) in case I'm doing it wrong, and then want to see him vomit (which, of course, he won't do that time), before reviewing his medicine and keeping it the same before sending us out into the (now) dark car park to go home.
Love it.
